Orangutan Youngster Builds A Hammock
The Sumatran orangutan youngster from the Chester zoo in England is high in the tree with its jute sack and trying to build itself a hammock or is it a cocoon? The youngster is wrapping the sack around him and trying to attach it to the tree. When he is finally getting it to stay attached to the tree he starts seesawing and wiggling about. You can see his hands coming out to give him more of push to seesaw and getting a bit more motion in the swing. Which makes him fall out of the hammock, but he's not giving up! The great ape is having another go.
The Sumatran orangutan are one of three species of orangutans and are rarer than the Bornean orangutan. They are critically endangered in the wild.

Baby Gorilla Shufai Is Having Some Fun
Shufai is having a great time with the wood shavings. Throwing it all over himself and running around like a clown.
When Shufai decides to go into the inside enclosure, his big brother Lope decides that he's having none of it and pulls Shufai back out of the door. When you look at Ozala you can just imagine her huffing and thinking 'Son, sometimes you can be a real jerk'. Shufai run straight to mum, but he couldn't help going back to the door to have a peek through it to see what his brother is up to. Afterwards he just carried on playing and being silly.
Shufai is the youngest of the family member, he was born on the 24th September 2016.
The gorilla family at Twycross consists of 6 members. Oumbi the big male silverback, Ozala the mum of Lope and Shufai. Grandma Bidi and Asante.
In 2009 Oumbi joined Twycross zoo to mate with the females. Ozala was Oumbi chosen mate.
His big brother Lope - was born on the morning of 3 January 2013.

Baby Gorilla Shufai Is Enjoing Big Brothers Birthday Party
Shufai is having some fun at Lopes Birthday party!
More Footage From Lopes Birthday Party
Some more footage of Lopes 5th Birthday Party on the 3rd of January 2018. There seems to be a funny obsession with the blue egg box. Oumbi gets there first and gets out all the popcorn that is hidden in the wood shavings. Next is Assanti, which is quite funny. She opens that blue egg box, looks at it, rubs her lip with her finger as to say hmm empty, how strange. Than she just closes the box again and rubs her head like she can't figure that one out. Next to investigate that blue egg box is Lope. He has a good sniff and a lick and than he has a go at the already demolished Birthday cake.

Gorilla Lope Loves Playing With Mothers Ear Lobe
Lope the Gorilla just loves to play with mums earlobe. Not sure if mum Ozala is too impressed as she's giving him the evil look, but she lets him anyway. I have seen Lope do this before. I wonder if it's just play or a deeper meaning.
Lope is one of two sons to Ozala and dad Oumbi.

Lope Can Be So Sweet And Innocent - Or Can He?
Wishing everyone A Happy New Year 2018! Thank you so much for watching, all your thumbs up and of course all your comments!
I'm publishing this video as the first Country, the Kiritimati Island, also known as Christmas Island goes into 2018.
In this video, Lope, the lovable rogue can be so sweet and innocent, but we all know that it doesn't last long :-) . Falling asleep on grandma, cuddling in to her looks all quite charming - until he reaches to the back, gets his stick out, that he chewed earlier on and then hits grandma Biddi over the head with it. Biddi just has her usual face impression and just takes the stick of Lope.
