Gorilla mum Viringika is after her baby daughter's food and starts chasing after her. Vuko is quickly jumping down the rocks, doing a backward roll into the grass and trying to hold on to her food. Mum is actually losing more food in chasing her little girl than she is going to gain from taking it from her daughter, but it's not just about the food, it's about Vuko learning the hierarchy of the troop. At the bottom of the rocks, mum catches her and stops her from rolling any further, pries open her little hands and gets the food. Vuko isn't phrased and quickly collects the other food that mum lost during the chase.
Mum sits on the rock and baby Vuko starts to look through the bush to find some more food. When she does, mum is quick to take it all off her again. Her daughter still manages to keep little bits here and there.
A little later Vuko sits in the grass, holding a big potato. When she sees mum coming running towards her, she tries again for a quick getaway, but mum is quicker. It might seem cruel, but it's all about learning. Vuko goes and runs through the grass to find some more bits and bobs. She's certainly not giving up.
When her mother sits there to enjoy her food, Vuko tries her luck to see if mum is willing to give her some, but no luck there. In the end, they go inside with Vuko trying to hang on to mum's belly. I think she might be just a little too grown up for that position.
I think the other two going inside are Oundi and her son Koundi. It is Tamba and her son Louango by the wall.
