via IFTTT Oumbi and Shufai are first out for food. It's Aubergine, one of their favourites. Grandma Biddy carrying one with her grey leg. A bit of a close-up of Shufai's face and then he dismounts from the hut. Ozala sitting in the back leaning against the wall and looking over. Shufai walks upright, collecting all the aubergine he can find and carry. Since Lope, his brother left he seems to walk even more upright. He sat himself on some wood wool with the winter son keeping him warm. His mother Ozala comes up, wanting to sit on the wood wool as well and makes him shift a bit so she's got some room. He watches her eat and lies next to her. Ozala tries to remove something from his hair, but he pulls away and gets some rest. Gorilla Shufai's Toothache, Lope Falls On His Bum And Big Jumps

via IFTTT Shufai is on top of the climbing frame, standing up and beating his chest. He kept playing with his teeth, it seemed like he had a bit of toothache. After hitting his teeth with his finger he has another chest beat. This was in July and Brother Lope is still with him. Lope climbs up to him at lightning speed and chases his little brother. They reappear from the back of the hut. Lope tries to grab his brother at speed but overreach and he slides down and falls off the slope. He softens his fall by holding on the the ledge of the cave. He sits there for a few seconds, turns around and climbs back up. Shufai makes a quick getaway. Lope seems to pretend not to be interested in another chase, but then suddenly he starts the chase again. Around the hut and Shufai quickly goes inside. As you'll see Lope is outside. It's still just before he moved to the bachelor pad, as his dad Oumbi wouldn't let him inside. So Shufai has got the perfect escape. A bit later on Shufai is back outside, on top of the hut, hanging over the edge and hitting his teeth again. When he's back on the ground he looks through the gabs to see where Lope is. Lope having a quick look through the window. Lope is taking it easy again, but Shufai quickly retreats backwards around the hut. Shufai is doing what Lope does, he jumps from the hut to the frame.

They have a wrestle, biting each other and then Jim finds time to come to the window. He took a good look into the camera where he probably saw his reflection and then turned around and fell back to the ground. He sits there blowing on the window, with his little tongue all curled up. In the background Jambo the hairless chimp having a rest on his wood wool and watching Flynn. Flynn steams up the whole corner of the window, has a cheeky look at me and then he starts using his finger to draw in the mist! He blows on the window again and draws some more. Gorilla Lope's Backward Bipedal Walk At Feeding Time

via IFTTT This was filmed a couple of weeks before Lope got moved to his Twycross bachelor Pad. Lope spent most of his time in the cave on his own as his dad Silverback Oumbi didn't want him around the family anymore. I hated seeing him like that and I'm glad he was moved before there were any physical fights between him and his dad. The only thing I wish is that Shufai his brother could have gone with him. His little bro walked past the cave ignoring his big brother. Normally he did check up on him. Lope comes out of the cave to have a little wonder. Lope spends some time in the hut with wood wool hanging from his head. He rarely went inside anymore. Only when he was sure he could avoid his dad. When he gets up, a little leg swings. He moves towards his brother who is quite hidden under the frame, but then it's feeding time. One of the keepers fed Oumbi on one side and the other fed Lope on the other side. To keep them apart. Luckily Oumbi just got his food and went straight back inside. Lope had a little side look making sure Oumbi stayed away. Lope walks upright to catch some food and then charges through the grass, passing Grandma Biddy. Ozala sitting at the bottom and sweet Asante waiting her turn, she moves to sit on the rock when Ozala comes up the slope. Watch the back as Biddy is trying to get inside, but Shufai stops her by hitting the flap with both fists. A couple of close-ups, and Lope the master at Bipadel walk, now walks backwards. He gets himself a piece of hose which normally has some treats in it which they have to get out with a stick or their fingers. He has a short chase after his brother at the end of the video. This was another video of Lope that I kept rescheduling for newer videos. Normally on Thursday, you'll see gorilla troops from my travels, but as I haven't managed to visit any gorilla troops since the Budapest series I thought this was a good time to show you these videos of Lope that I still had. Lope is now in France with a Silverback called Dishi and another blackback called Aybo. Gorilla Mother Ozala Makes Sure Boys Behave

via IFTTT The gorilla brothers chase each other. Lope is running after his younger brother Shufai who slips and falls down the bank. Lope is spending more and more time outside away from his dad. Luckily his brother still enjoys a chase with him. It's quite a hot day and you see the sweat on Shufai's face after he slipped from the bank above the cave. It's not too high so he was fine. They had another chase and went inside through the other door. Ozala the boy's mother was outside, Shufai was there as well when Lope came out in his defensive posture walking past his brother and his mum. A little snack for Lope and in the next clip he charges at Shufai and then backs him into a corner near the cave. Shufai tries to look away. Lope stand up to have a quick look at where their mother is. He finally sits down but is still staring at his brother. Shufai sits down as well but tries not to make eye contact. He knows he's backed into the corner and doesn't want to give Lope an excuse. Lope gets back up, and moves closer to Shufai, That's when Ozala checks on her boys and has a look at what's up with her sons. She moves to the top of the ledge and lets Lope know, don't try anything I'm here watching. Shufai feels like he can move with his mum observing. Orangutan Jazz with the Babies

Hairless Chimp Hunched Bipedal Walk

He has had alopecia, a form of hair loss since his youth. He was born on June 9, 1982. In November 2018, Jambo lost his ear, possibly due to an accidental fight with his mother. Attempts to reattach it with skin glue failed as he continued to pick on it. In October 2022, he also lost a toe, with the cause unknown but possibly related to fights and agitation during mating season. In 2018, the chimpanzees received a new habitat called "Chimpanzee Eden." Gorilla Gorilla Family's Lunchtime Feast - Aubergine Delight

via IFTTT It's lunchtime and the Gorilla's favourite food is aubergine. Shufai is waiting for his, Silverback Oumbi is straight out as well. He collects as many as he can and then goes back inside. His son Lope stays away from him, but as soon as Oumbi moves Lope gets his share. Shufai got his hands full and could hardly walk. Stuffing his face with some big bites. Lope has his stash in front of him. I always Love how Lope eats when he really likes something. He closes his eyes and you can see how he's savouring it. Even if you don't like the purple veg, when you look at Lope you want to try some as well lol. Look at those canines! They developed nicely now. Our gorilla rascal is all grown up. Biddy has her share as well. Asante gets her share too. Shufai is now sitting on the waterfall rocks, holding on tight to the aubergine. Doing a split over the rocks to get another two from the bottom. A quick look back at Lope, and Shufai walking upright with his hands full, losing one of his aubergine in the process. He sits down for a second to have a quick bite getting rid of the top of the aubergine and picks up his fallen one. Oumbi comes back and sits down looking around. Another look at lovely Asante, still outside having another aubergine. Gorilla Lope and Shufai's Fast Paced Chase 2of2

via IFTTT The chase continues from last week. Lope is on fire, climbing rapidly up on the climbing frame and chasing after his brother. Shufai hides inside for a rest. A little later outside again he beckons his brother by boxing the hut's wall. Shufai climbs on top of the hut and stands up to see if Lope is coming. Lope climbs up, but Shufai is already down the bottom again. They disappear and the next time I see Lope he has a rest in the grass on his back. When he sits up, I zoom in on his chest which is all green from doing a belly flop down the slope earlier that I just missed, but he's going to do another later on. It doesn't take long before the chase starts up again and when Shufai goes back inside Lope beats his chest and throws himself down the slope, rolling down. Shufai is standing on the climbing frame, doing his little jump and chest beat. Lope comes running and the chase starts once more. Orangutan Baby Jim's Playful Jumps From The Window

via IFTTT Cuteness overload as Orangutan baby Jim comes super close to the window and then jumps off the windowsill into the wood wool. His face, his white big teeth how can you not love him? He gets more playful by the minute. Not too much I can write about this video, if you like me you probably have a permanent grin on your face. You see Jim's inherited double nipple from his mum and later on in the video he has something black in his mouth. I'm not sure what this is, I've seen them chew this a lot. I know in the beginning of the video he has a piece of twig in his mouth, but the black thing doesn't look like a tig. His mum Jazz is there at the end looking at what Jim is doing and then investigating me, well my camera lol. Gorilla Shufai Icy Rocks and Slippery Logs

via IFTTT It's foggy, it's icy but Gorilla Shufai still tries to balance on the strap. He does well at the end just got a little wobble. He manages to hold himself and not fall off. He is looking for that little bit of ice and finds a string from the strap that is covered. He moves to the other side of the platform where he jumps down onto the log. Carefully crossing over towards the tree. In the foreground, you can see all the rocks are covered in ice and this is where he's heading next. There he picks up a shard of ice. He takes it with him, licks some more ice off the rock, and scrapes some off but when he's on his way back up he lets the ice sheet slip from his hand. It probably got a bit too cold. At the top of the waterfall rocks, he jumps to the other side to get some more of the ice-cold snack. He jumps back to the other side and runs inside to warm up. It doesn't take him long until he's back. He slipped a bit as he was too quick jumping on that rock. Again he dives to the inside and later he checks out the ice sheet by the waterfall but then just runs back inside. Unfortunately, no December snow for them to enjoy. I'm not sure if you've seen my community post. Lope might not have any snow in France, but he got his snowman. Lope, Dishi and Aybo celebrated Christmas! Lope's first French Christmas. So happy to see Lope getting some Christmas goodies. It's been a long time since he got any. He went for the snowman first! First the middle, then the bottom part and then he picked up the snowman's head, carrying it ALL away!! 😂🤣😂 That's our Lope.
