via IFTTT *At certain times of the day, the Gorilla troop get a visit from the colobus monkeys. This keeps both species on their toes, not only are they trying to get to the baby they annoy Gorilla Kioja, but she gets her revenge!* The colobus monkeys are very nosy and in this video are trying to get to the baby, but Mum Dossi is keeping her eye out and not letting them anywhere near her baby. This doesn't stop them from trying. Baby Eyare is in Mum's arms when suddenly a nosy colobus monkey comes closer and has a look at the two. Another colobus monkey comes running from Dossi's right and she puts her hand out so he keeps his distance. They stare at each other for a bit, but when one of the monkeys moves, Dossi gets up and she keeps Eyare by her side. They move and now a colobus monkey in on top of the rock looking down on the gorilla's mum and baby. Eyare seems to want to play and tries to climb up towards the monkey. Dossi quickly grabs her daughter's head and pulls her back towards her. As Mum is laying down, Eyare tries to get away again looking at the monkey that keeps looking at her. Her mother gets up and keeps an eye on her and the monkey. As it is busy I have to keep moving and trying to film over people's shoulders. When Dossi and her daughter sit by the window and the colobus monkey stares at the two again. A few minutes later the pestering colobus monkeys have a go at Gorilla Kioja. Not sure if you're able to see the first bit. Quite a few colobus monkeys gang up on her, but she's getting her own back minutes later! She runs after one of them, doesn't get it, but when the next one just sits there on the pole she takes her chance. There is a little scuffle and if you look at her hand, you'll see that she pulled out some hair from the colobus monkey. She looks at it, smells it and shakes it off her hand. Kioja climbs back down, while the monkeys get out of her way, but on the ground, she runs past one of the other gorillas on the hammock and pulls on it hard, making it swing. I'm not sure if Kioja was annoyed that nobody gave her a helping hand. Silverback Jasari was like usual in his little cave out of the way. So he didn't even hear or see what was going on.
