via IFTTT The usually loving Gorilla mom, Dossi, has been displaying some tough love towards her daughter, Eyare, by pushing her away in various situations. It may appear harsh to us, but it's important to remember that Dossi has shown herself to be a caring and affectionate mother in previous videos, nursing, cuddling, and protecting her daughter from other monkeys. This behavior is part of the learning process and will likely benefit Eyare as she grows older. It's worth noting that the compilation we see was filmed over a couple of days, so these interactions are not happening constantly. There are moments when Dossi seems particularly firm with Eyare, especially when food is involved or when she wants some alone time. Despite this treatment, Eyare handles it all in her stride. Gorilla Dossi, residing at the Calgary Zoo, appears to have a fondness for the window area. She comfortably lies on her back with her feet crossed and one foot against the windowpane. With great interest, she picks up a bucket lid and begins to fill it with wood chips. Curious about her mother's activity, her daughter Eyare approaches, but Dossi doesn't seem too pleased and gives her a gentle push. Eyare steps back, touching her head in response. Although momentarily deterred, she can't resist returning for another look. However, Dossi again uses her finger to push Eyare away. Disheartened, Eyare decides to play on her own while Dossi continues tossing the wood chips. I also included some close-up shots of Dossi's finger and thumb as she peels off bits from the wood chips. In the following scene, Eyare finds a stick, but Dossi takes it from her to use it on the food crate, trying to get some food out. Eyare extends her little hand to catch the falling bits, attempting to cuddle with her mom, but unfortunately receives another push. Observing this, one can't help but wish to give Eyare a long and comforting hug. Perhaps this is why Eyare has grown quite independent. Later, when Dossi obtains a round food puzzle, Eyare is intrigued and comes over to take a look. Unfortunately, she is once again pushed away by her mother's finger on her face. Since the filming of these events, Gorilla baby Okabe was born to mum Yewande, offering a future playmate for baby Eyare. Stay connected and never miss a moment!
