Jambo the Hairless Chimp: From Calm to Chaos - Charging and Hitting Mates

via IFTTT Experience Jambo the Hairless Chimp's peaceful moment in the grass, enjoying a salad. Watch as things take a wild turn when he charges and hits his mates! Jambo the Hairless chimp is sitting in the grass, eating some salad. Chimpanzee Jomar got his hands on some ice flavoured with fruit tea, with vegetables, and the brown stuff is Chimpanzee biscuits with all kinds of nutrition. The others follow him, hoping there will be some for them. First, Josie and then Kibali. Jambo is busy at the back, licking the bowl they used to freeze the ice. Jambo then moves towards where the other chimpanzees are. Everything seems pretty calm, but suddenly Jambo charges at Kibali and Jomar, hitting them. Kibali and Jomar scream at Jambo as he runs past. They follow him but give up in the end, and Jambo can catch his breath. It doesn't take him long before he has another mad run. He's in the hut, has an argument with a piece of cardboard, then jumps down back into the grass and charges across. After a couple of seconds of rest, he follows Josie, who has another piece of ice. Is he going to get some of Josie? To be continued next Tuesday... #HairlessChimpanzee #HairlessChimp Don't forget to subscribe and hit that notification bell for more! Hairless Chimp Jambo, the alpha male was born at Twycross Zoo in England. He has had alopecia, a form of hair loss since his youth. Born on June 9, 1982, his daughter Genet and his mother Coco (1965) share the same habitat. Coco is the oldest animal at Twycross Zoo. Jambo's siblings from his father's side, Holly (born December 27, 1982) and Jomar (born December 28, 1990), are also in the same habitat. His first son Peter is in neighbouring enclosures. His half-brother William sadly passed away recently (July 2023). In November 2018, Jambo lost his ear, possibly due to an accidental fight with his mother. Attempts to reattach it with skin glue failed as he continued to pick on it. In October 2022, he also lost a toe, with the cause unknown but possibly related to fights and agitation during mating season. In 2018, the chimpanzees received a new habitat called "Chimpanzee Eden." It spans 1,160 square meters and includes two seven-meter-high indoor spaces connected to a large outdoor area with climbing frames and huts.
